South-East Aboriginal Arts Market

South-East Aboriginal Markets

South-East Aboriginal Arts Market It’s estimated that 80 per cent of Aboriginal art sold to tourists is made overseas, or doesn’t directly benefit Indigenous communities in Australia. One of the best ways to buy art, jewellery, weaving, photography or shellwork by Aboriginal Australian artists is, of course, to buy directly from the maker. The artists presenting works come from regional and coastal New South Wales, from ACT to southern Victoria and the Murray Darling basin catchment area to Tasmania – and there’ll be items on sale ranging from homewares and artworks to literature and traditional weaving, carving and paintings.
